The retention of numerous existing trees made a tight site even tighter at Bow Lake Elementary in SeaTac.  Thomas Rengstorf & Associates work collaboratively with the rest of the design team to creatively solve the site planning issues of storm water on site.  The design team worked together to create a community gather space that is place between two raingardens.  A student courtyard in between the two wings of the buildings was divided into three spaces to serve different user groups and activity levels.  The library garden provides a quiet gathering place for individual and group reading.  The kindergarten courtyard allows younger children a safe place to play.  The main courtyard promotes the active flow of the students from the lunchroom to the large playground and playfield area.
