The Southshore School explores diversity in landscape experiences including a meditative walking labyrinth to the new school entry, tall lighting bollards, and chessboards scribed into seatwalls. A public artwork trellis will light the entry at this prominent South end intersection.

The educational programming posed unique opportunities for landscape design and age-appropriate play. TRA planned play experiences for dedicated age groups from Pre-K through 8th grade. Kindergarteners learn sustainable practices and gardening with play panels, vegetable plots, and compost tumblers, and first graders enjoy international theme through music, and games of the world. Basketball, four square, tetherball, and ropes & cables provide challenges for older children.
